Rep Yusuf Gagdi, the Chairman of the Ad hoc Committee investigating job racketeering in MDAs, has stated that they have not implicated Prof Ishaq Oloyode, the Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB).
He also clarified that no Federal Government agencies have been implicated, contrary to rumors.
Gagdi made these statements during the committee’s hearing in Abuja on Saturday. He emphasized that the committee has been engaging with all the agencies involved and that it would be premature to accuse the JAMB registrar of any wrongdoing while the investigation is still ongoing.
There have been reports suggesting that the committee implicated the JAMB registrar for hiring around 300 staff members without advertising the positions.
However, Gagdi stressed that it would be unfair to make any judgments until the committee completes its investigation and submits its report to the house.
He further emphasized, “This committee has not implicated the JAMB registrar or any institution. You can only make such claims after we submit our report. We had a constructive interaction with him, and no one should preempt the committee’s decision by declaring someone at fault.”
