Justice Adamu of the Kano State High Court has issued an order restraining the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), and Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) from investigating or arresting Barrister Muhuyi Rimingado, the Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission.

The court also prohibits the trio from interfering in the affairs of the Commission until the hearing of the originating motion on notice.

The order was given after considering a motion Ex-Parte and accompanying affidavit. The Judge further ordered all parties involved to maintain the status quo.

The order prevents the Defendants/Respondents from taking any action related to the functions and duties of the Plaintiffs/Applicants, as well as interfering with the staff or people under their services.

Justice Adamu also ordered the acceleration of the hearing by shortening the time for the Defendants to file and serve their court processes. The Plaintiffs/Applicants in the suit include the Attorney General of Kano State, the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, and its Chairman, Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado.

The Defendants/Respondents are the EFCC, CCB, and ICPC.

The Judge, Justice Adamu however, adjourned the matter to the 25th September, 2023 for hearing of the originating motion.
