Health Technology startup; Cradlecare Africa has emerged as the 1st runners-up at the just-concluded Kids Innovation Challenge 2023. The team of young innovators wowed the judges, and participants with the creativity and organization of their startup.
Cradle care is a medical record system that allows for accurate record keeping of medical records of kids between the ages of 0-17. The startup wants to eradicate the menace of infant mortality in sub-Saharan Africa by ensuring parents and medical professionals keep track of the medical records of kids. It also has a notification system where kids can be notified about hospital appointments, and immunization schedules among others.
7 innovative startups made it to the final stage and demo day of the Kids Innovation Challenge from the previous 2 rounds where many entries were dropped.
The quartet team of Tomilola Abayomi, Emmanuel Ishola, Ibrahim Olawuyi, and Abdulsamad Adeyemi; all products of Edtech Platform KidsTech Africa are the brains behind Cradlecare.
The team was the 5th startup to present with Tomilola Abayomi leading the team to share with the judges and audiences what they have built. The event was held at the Idera Conference Hall at Radisson Blu Hotels, Victoria Island Lagos, Nigeria.
This is the 3rd time in 2023 that the startup has won prizes and recognition in the various startup and innovation challenges. The team emerged 2nd runners up at the e-Govt Hackathon which was organized by the Ilorin Innovation Hub in January 2023 before going on to win again at the African Teen Tech Fest 2023 in May.
Cradlecare recently launched a beta version of their solution via a web app. It can be accessed via www.cradlecareafrica.com.
