The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has given his approval for Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye to be the new Soun-elect of Ogbomoso Land.
The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, following the necessary legal procedures.
The statement from the Commissioner reads
“His Excellency congratulates the new Soun-elect on his elevation to the throne of his ancestors”
The Commissioner emphasized that this prestigious position puts the monarch-elect in a position to promote unity, understanding, and acceptance among his people.
Additionally, the Commissioner urged all residents of Ogbomoso to collaborate with the monarch in order to build upon the achievements of his predecessors.
