The Muwagun of Oro Kingdom and a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Otunba Biodun Ajiboye has congratulated notable media personality, Bayo Onanuga, on his appointment as Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Otunba Ajiboye, in a statement issued on Saturday, described the appointment of Bayo Onanuga as deserving and a true reward for loyalty and consistency.
The Oro born politician and core loyalist of President Tinubu noted that Bayo Onanuga is among the few who believe in and has always stood by the vision of President Tinubu.
He added that Bayo Onanuga, a legendary journalist who co-founded TheNews Magazine who was appointed Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, by President Muhammadu Buhari in May 2016 possesses all the qualities and requisites to transform the office of Information and Strategy in the Presidency as Special Adviser through his wealth of experiences and knowledge.
“Egbon Bayo Onanuga has a deep understanding of Nigeria’s information and media industry,” he added.
Otunba further noted that the veteran journalist’s uncommon qualities and information management expertise will be a great asset to President Tinubu’s Media Team.
He noted that the appointment could not have come at a better time, given the urgent need to support the President’s Renewed Agenda initiatives and the more urgent need to rescue the country from the menace of fake news merchants and purveyors of falsehoods in the public space.
Otunba commended President Tinubu for identifying with a talent like Bayo Onanuga and for his zeal to always reward loyalty.
