
…Cautions Politicians Against Unhealthy Rivalry
The Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Zulu-Gambari, CFR has called for unity and collaboration among Ilorin sons and daughters in high places.
The Emir of Ilorin gave this charge on Friday during the installation of the 10th Magaji of Bamidele, the ancentral homestead the Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Senator Saliu Mustapha.
The Monarch said it’s imperative for Ilorin indigenes in position of means and power to collaborate with one another with a view to attracting more development to the Emirate.
“All of Ilorin sons and daughters that Allah has blessed in high places should make it a point of duty to collaborate with one another. They all should pull efforts individually and jointly in attracting viable development to the community. This is what Ilorin has always been know for, and we should continue to sustain the tradition, the respected monarch said.
Sulu-Gambari, who is also the Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Council, used the opportunity to caution politicians against unhealthy rivalry, urging them not to allow politics to divide them.
According to him, the development of Ilorin Emirate should be paramount to every son/daughter of the Emirate, irrespective of their political affiliations.
Senator Saliu Mustapha at the event donated two million naira to support the installation of the new Magaji inline with Ilorin tradition of Lawani Takoko.
Turaki later joined Emir of Ilorin, Justice Belgore and others to observe Juma’at Prayer at Ilorin Central Mosque.
He also paid condolence visit to Agbaji over the demise of Sheikh Aminullahi Tanto-Olohun.
