Darul Ulum: I Will Continue To Prioritize Education, Senator Saliu Mustapha

The Turaki of Ilorin and Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial district, Mallam Saliu Mustapha has promised to prioritize investment in education sector and support Islamic education.

Senator Saliu Mustapha stated this on Saturday at Book Launch and Award Presentation hosted by the Darul Ulum Alumni Association Isale Koto.

The event held at Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin to celebrate 60th Anniversary of Darul Ulum Arabic institute was attended by Registrar Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof Issaq Oloyede, University of Ilorin Vice Chancellor, Prof Egbewole, Baloguns, Islamic scholars among others.

The Senator said western education is important but encourages parents to also give quality religious education, especially Islamic education to their children.

He also called for reorientation among the youth, urging students in Islamic schools to apply good teaching of Islam in their daily life.

He expressed displeasure over the growing menace of street thuggery in Ilorin, which usually pride itself as Islamic community.

Mustapha, the Chairman Senate Committee on Agriculture donated N10million for the book launch and pledge to work with school management for further intervention.
