Farmers’ Hopes Boosted As Saliu Mustapha’s NALDA Bill Passes Initial Reading

The NALDA bill, sponsored by Senator Saliu Mustapha, has received positive reception from farmers, raising hope for improved access to agricultural land in Nigeria.

The bill, which aims to replace the existing National Agricultural Land Development Authority Act of 1992, was presented in the Senate and passed the first reading.

Senator Opeyemi Bamidele introduced the bill, and Senator Mustapha stated that it aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and aims to increase the availability of agricultural land.

Senator Mustapha looks forward to leading the debate during the second reading. In addition to this bill, Senator Mustapha has also sponsored the Electronic Transaction Bill and the bill for the establishment of the National Food Reserve Agency, both of which have passed the first reading.

These bills aim to regulate electronic transactions and ensure national food security, respectively.
