President Tinubu Appoints Kwara Gov’s Top Ally, Ghali Muhammad Into NNPC Board

Dr. Ghali Muhammad, a top ally of the Governor of Kwara State, has been appointment as a member of the new Board and Management team for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). The announcement of this appointment was made by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, and it will come into effect on December 1, 2023.

The appointed individuals include Chief Pius Akinyelure as the Non-Executive Board Chairman, Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari as the Group Chief Executive Officer, and others such as Alhaji Umar Isa Ajiya, Mr. Ledum Mitee, Mr. Musa Tumsa, Mr. Ghali Muhammad, Prof. Mustapha Aliyu, Mr. David Ogbodo, and Ms. Eunice Thomas.

In addition, President Tinubu has approved the appointment of two Permanent Secretaries: Mr. Okokon Ekanem Udo for the Federal Ministry of Finance and Amb. Gabriel Aduda for the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

President Tinubu emphasizes a dedication to a performance-based and results-oriented agenda, with a focus on energy policies that utilize current oil and gas resources while promoting the exploration of cleaner energy sources in the future.
