Kwara PDP Youth Leader Resigns Amid Campaign Fund Embezzlement

The Kwara Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth Leader, Prince Haliru Dantosho Mahmud has resigned his membership from the party.

This is sequel to a letter he addressed to the party chairman, Kaiama Ward I dated, 11th December 2023 and made available to newsmen.

Dantosho who is the Dan Iyan of Kaiama said his resignation is due to Dr. Bukola Saraki’s refusal to account for the 2023 presidential campaign fund allocated to the state and his dictatorial style of leadership.

He affirmed in the letter that the party under the watch of the former Senate President can no longer win election in the state and so, he has to resigned for not to be part of failure.

The letter reads:

“I wish to tender my resignation as a member of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in Kaiama Ward I, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.

“The decision is taken due to the failure of PDP under the dictatorship of the former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki to account for the 2023 PDP presidential election fund allocation to Kwara State and the rascality, bringandage and with impunity with which the party is being run in the state.

“You will recall that I was illegally suspended by the party due to my concerns raised about the 2023 PDP presidential election funds, a decision that was later rejected by the National Working Committee of the party in the 28th of November, 2023 at its 578th meeting.

“Since this development, there have been threat to my life and efforts to remove me through the back door, bringing the ward executives to remove me by force.

“After all efforts in ensuring accountability, transparence and independence of the party failed, and having realized that the party under the leadership of Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki can no longer win election in Kwara State, I have decided to take a honorable path by voluntarily resigning my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
