The Deputy Senate Leader and Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial district has initiated efforts to construct modern facilities at Imole Boja Shelter Rock.
The Deputy Senate Leader is keen to ensure that the district is recognized as a top tourist destination in Africa, in alignment with the Senator’s goal of boosting tourism in the Kwara South senatorial district.
This initiative is expected to enhance the socioeconomic opportunities within the district and attract international investors.
The senator is rebranding the Imole Boja Shelter Rock in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State with a focus on recreating the sports center, constructing two five-a-side soccer fields, and installing an Astroturf.
Additional projects include building a volleyball court, a children’s playground, a sit-out area, a pavilion, and landscaping.
Once all of these projects are completed, the tourist center will stand out as one of the top global destinations to visit.
Earlier today, in fulfilling this mandate, the Senator was at Imole Boja Shelter rock, with a team of professional and certified engineers, architects, and surveyors to conduct an on-site assessment before commencing the projects.
Accompanying the Senator at Imole Boja for the assessment are, Hon. Kuti, Honourable representing Oke-Ero, the TIC Secretary, Barr Opeyemi Ogunmodimu, an APC chieftain in Oke-Ero, Aare Adeoti, Hon James Ogundele, the Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) to the President of the senate, along with other members of the community.
Senator Ashiru who said Tourism is a viable sector through which the economy of the district can be revived, charged every individual to encourage domestic tourism instead of spending huge resources on foreign ones.
He explained that tourism has huge potentials which have not been fully utilized, noting that some countries in the world have sustained their economies through their investment in the tourism sector which has yielded positive outcomes.
The Deputy Senate Leader reiterated his commitment to making significant investments in ensuring that all the tourist attractions in Kwara South receive the necessary attention to meet expectations and enhance the socio-economic value of the district.
