The Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial district, Oyelola Ashiru, has condoled with the people of Ilemona in the Oyun Local Government Area following the passing of their monarch, His Royal Highness Oba Yusuf Omokanye Oyekanmi.
According to the palace’s report, Oba Yusuf Omokanye Oyekanmi passed away at the age of 95.
In a statement on Saturday, the Senate Deputy Leader highlighted that the late monarch was loved by his people and will be remembered for his extensive experience and achievements.
“On behalf of the good people of Kwara South senatorial district, I mourn the passing of a great King and a scholarly figure, His Royal Highness Oba Yusuf Omokanye Oyekanmi.” the statement reads
“He was a remarkable patriot and Leader whose absence will create a significant void in Leadership for the people of Ilemona, whom he dutifully served as the Elemona of the Kingdom.”
“Oba Yusuf Omokanye Oyekanmi was revered for his simplicity, competence, dedication, and intellectual approach to matters,” He added
“His impact on the progress and advancement of Ilemona, Oyun Local Government Area, and Kwara South will endure for future generations,” he remarked.
The Deputy Senate Leader extended his sincere condolences to the deceased’s immediate family, including the member of the Kwara State House of Assembly representing Odo-Ogun State Constituency, Honourable Toye Yusuf and Aide-de-camp to President Tinubu, Nurudeen Yusuf, and the people of the Kingdom.
The Lawmaker offered prayers for the repose of the departed soul, praying to God to accept the deceased’s soul and grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
