Gov AbdulRazaq Dedicates First Term Clearing Lots Of Rots, Structural Destruction; His Second Term Focusing On Advancing Modernization- Senator Ashiru

The Nigerian Deputy Senate Leader, and Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial district, Arc Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, has shed light on his longstanding relationship with Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, detailing their shared political journey and collaborative efforts to advance the state’s development.

“I’ve been relating with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for many years, prior to him becoming the governor of Kwara State. We had good times together under CPC and even before that in ACPN, striving to make a difference. We often discussed our dreams and programs, and by the power of Almighty God, he won the election in 2019 for his first term.

Lola Ashiru acknowledged that Governor AbdulRazaq’s first term was marked by significant challenges, as he inherited a state plagued by structural issues and decay. “He met a lot of rot, a lot of structural destruction, and I’m sure he spent those four years mostly correcting the system, rebuilding the blocks, and restoring key infrastructure. This foundational work led to a peaceful term and facilitated his re-election for a second term.”

“In his second term, Governor AbdulRazaq is focusing on building upon the existing structure and launching new projects across the state. You can begin to see a lot of projects throughout the state, especially in Ilorin, which is the symbol of all Kwarans. Cities, by their nature, are the economic impulses of any nation or sub-national. The aspirations of Ilorin reflect those of the entire Kwara State. The dynamics and progress in Ilorin set the stage for the whole state.”

Ashiru highlighted the new master plan for Ilorin, including the Ilorin Smart City initiative, as a pivotal element of this vision. “The Smart City plan is designed for those prepared to move into the future with the necessary tools and advancements. It embodies the essence of modernity and our aspirations for tomorrow.

“As an environmentalist, architect, and developer, I see this as the only path to bring Kwara on par with the best cities in the world.”

“The first term was about building into the future, and now we are seeing the fruits of that labour. The new master plan and the Smart City project are preparations for a greater Kwara State, a state that is multi-ethnic and dynamic.”
