KWASU VC: Igbaja Progressive Union Congratulates Illustrious Son, Prof Lukman Sheikh On Appointment

The Igbaja Progressive Union National Executive Council has congratulated renowned scholar, Prof. Lukman Sheikh, on his appointment as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University (KWASU).

In a statement released on Wednesday, Dr. Oluwatoyin Alabi, National President of the union, described Prof. Sheikh’s appointment as “a testament to his academic excellence and leadership prowess”.

The union commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his “visionary leadership and commitment to inclusiveness”, saying the appointment reflects the governor’s “unwavering dedication to meritocracy and good governance”.

The statement read: “We celebrate our illustrious son, Prof. Lukman Sheikh, on this well-deserved appointment.

His elevation is a pride to the entire Igbaja Community and Kwara South. We pray that God grants him wisdom and guidance to lead KWASU to greater heights.”

Dr. Oluwatoyin Alabi also extends his warmest congratulations to His Royal Highness, Dr Oba Ahmed Arepo Babalola II for the elevation of one of the sons of the soil, noting that it is a sign that his reign as monarch is a blessing to the Kingdom and the people of Igbaja, home and abroad.

The union pledged their support to Prof. Sheikh, assuring him of their cooperation in driving the university’s growth and development.
