Omupo Constituency Rallies Behind Gov AbdulRazaq’s Development Strides, Unite For Chairmanship Position

The Omupo State Constituency meeting held on Friday, June 21, 2024, at the Omupo Constituency Office, witnessed a united call for increased development and unity to achieve their goal of producing the next Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Area.

Hon. AGF Salahuddeen, representing Omupo Constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly, commended Governor AbdulRahaman Abdulrazaq’s developmental strides in the constituency and solicited more projects to benefit the people.

Hon. Suleiman Lawal Duduyemi, Kwara APC Youth Leader, emphasized the need for unity, urging all members to work together towards achieving their goal of producing the next Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Area.

On his part, Hon Shilo Awobimpe, Former APC Chairman in Ifelodun capitalized on fairness and equality, “The people of Omupo Constituency have come together to demand their rightful turn at the chairmanship of Ifelodun Local Government. For too long, Share OkeOde Constituency has held the position, occupying it for over three terms from 2016 to 2024. We believe it’s our turn now, as the Omupo Constituency has been left behind despite having equal qualifications and capabilities. Historically, Share OkeOde Constituency has held the chairmanship position 15 times, while Omupo Constituency has only held it 11 times. We are united in our quest for fairness and equality, and we demand that the next chairman come from the Omupo Constituency.” He said

The meeting was attended by various leaders, including Hon. Jubril Emilagba, Hon. Kuburat Aderamo, Hon. Fatai Mustapha Leko, Hon Atoyebi Toyibah, Hon Shilo Awobimpe, APC Ward Chairman in Omupo Constituency, APC Ward Executive and APC Members in Omupo Constituency.

The Traditional Leadership in Omupo Constituency has also endorsed the call for unity and support for the next Chairman to come from Omupo Constituency.

The meeting reiterated the constituency’s commitment to unity and development, aligning with Governor Abdulrazaq’s efforts to bring progress to the region.
