Commissioner Olukoju Pledges Collaboration With ASKOMP To Project Government Activities



Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Mrs. Bola Olukoju, announced that the state government will inaugurate a Steering Committee on Cholera Prevention on Thursday, June 27. During a meeting with the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP), Olukoju highlighted the state’s proactive measures to prevent a Cholera outbreak. She emphasized Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s strategic investments in infrastructure, aimed at boosting the economy, attracting investors and tourists, and creating jobs. The Commissioner cited the International Conference Centre, Kwara Hotel, Sugar Film Factory, and garment factory as examples of impactful projects. She pledged to collaborate with ASKOMP to showcase government activities, urging the association to uphold journalism ethics.

Earlier, ASKOMP Chairman, Salihu Shola Taofeek said the association has 40 Online News platforms operating in Kwara State, noting that its members are contributing to the state economy through payment of taxes and creating jobs.

Other ASKOMP Executive Members at meeting are Aiyelabegan Babatunde AbdulRasaq (Vice Chairman), Oyewale Oyelola (Secretary), Nafiu Toyin Abdulqadri (Financial Secretary), Oluwatoyin Lukman (Treasurer) and Nasif Solagberu (Auditor)
