The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced guidelines for its upcoming councilorship and chairmanship primaries.
According to a statement signed by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, the primaries will hold on June 26 and 27, 2024.
The party has adopted a direct primary mode for the councilorship primaries, allowing all registered members to vote directly for their preferred aspirants.
However, an indirect primary will be held for the chairmanship, with verified party delegates from wards voting for candidates.
The party urged all participants to adhere strictly to the guidelines and ensure a smooth, fair, and transparent process. Security arrangements have been put in place to guarantee the safety of all participants during the primaries.
The party warned against all forms of injustice and appealed to members and aspirants to conduct themselves with decorum and respect the outcome of the primaries.
