
Offa residents in the Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State are grateful to Senator Oyelola Ashiru, the Deputy Senate Leader and representative of Kwara South Senatorial District, for the completion of Asphalt laying on Obatiwajoye-Kolawolu-Asalofa-Ewule-St Mark road.
The project includes erosion control with reinforced concrete and rural electrification through solar street lights installation.
Referred to as the “Inner Road” by urban dwellers and “Ona Agbo-Ile” by the locals, this road project is a crucial step towards infrastructural development.
Residents have commended the senator on the completion of this projects, stating its value, Mrs. Adamo Yinusa and Mr. Olaniyi Adeyemo from Arofa compound, Mr. Abdulazeez Abdulakeem AKA Pẹpẹ from Agbe’s Compound, and Mrs. Nafisat Jamiu from Asalofa compound, have lauded the Senator for his commitment to improving local infrastructure.
Their praises reflect a widespread sentiment among the community, highlighting the positive impact of the road project on their daily lives.
Oludare Awe Jacob, the Chairman of Israelee Construction Real Ventures, Ilorin, the company overseeing the project, expressed his satisfaction with the community’s response.
“We are pleased that the residents have welcomed the project with open arms. They are happy to benefit from the dividends of democracy,” Jacob stated.
He added that the road, which spans approximately 750 meters and began construction two months ago, has now reached the asphalt stage.
Comrade Omuiyadun Hammed Ayodimeji (Yah-Omuz), the Principal Personal Assistant to the Senator and Director of Project Planning and Implementation, provided further insight into the project’s objectives.
“This road project is designed to foster economic growth and prosperity for the residents. It also addresses erosion control which also includes the electrification of the area through the installation of solar streetlights,” Ayodimeji explained.
He continued by outlining future plans, noting that Senator Ashiru will initiate an empowerment program for business owners and residents along the road through the Alajobi Co-operative Society.
Additionally, Omuz mentioned that the second phase of the project will extend to the St Mark-Abugba-Agbopa-Aponbi road and the St Mark-Muu Road, further enhancing the local infrastructure.
The development of the Obatiwajoye-Kolawolu-Asalofa-Ewule-St Mark road represents a significant milestone in the community’s journey towards modernization and improved living standards.
As the project progresses, residents remain optimistic about the transformative potential of these infrastructural advancements.
