Isin Traditional Leaders Lauds Senator Ashiru’s Health Intervention



The Onigbin of Oke Onigbin, Oba Salahudeen Kamaldeen Omotayo Abeegun II, has commended the Deputy Senate Leader and Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial District, Arc Lola Ashiru, for his unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of his constituents.

The monarch praised Senator Ashiru during a visit by the senator’s representatives to his palace as part of the ongoing one-week health intervention programme across the district. In his remarks, Oba Salahudeen highlighted Senator Ashiru’s consistent efforts to address the needs of his constituents, particularly in healthcare.

“Senator Lola Ashiru has never left his constituents unchecked. He continues to care for them as needed. This time, he has initiated a week-long health intervention programme across the district—a commendable feat,” the monarch stated.

The Onigbin further emphasized Senator Ashiru’s responsiveness to the healthcare challenges faced by the less privileged, saying, “Our distinguished Senator has acknowledged the struggles of the masses in accessing medical checkups and settling medical bills. He has once again come to their aid. We are grateful that he remembers us positively. May God continue to strengthen him.”

Flanking the monarch during the visit were Chief Adeyemi Salami, the Odofin Onikoyi of Oke Onigbin, and Chief Azeez Kolawole, the Sajuku Onigbin.

In response, Senator Lola Ashiru, represented by Alhaji Omotosho Yunus Alabi, Senior Legislative Aide to the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, expressed gratitude for the royal father’s ongoing support.

“The senator appreciates your continuous support and encouragement as a royal father in the district. He acknowledges the overwhelming support from this local government and never excludes it in developmental plans for Kwara South.”

Key figures in attendance included Omuiyadun Hammed Ayodimeji (Yah-Omuz), Principal Personal Assistant to Senator Lola Ashiru; Mr. Olayemi Olaboye Itafa, Special Adviser on Administration to Senator Ashiru; Ms. Olaitan Adeyanju, Senator Ashiru’s Legislative Aide; Mr. Salawu Abidemi (NABDA representative); and Engr. Femi Muhammed (Consultant).

The health intervention initiative, which commenced yesterday, is being facilitated in collaboration with the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA) and Abitat Konzultants Nigeria Limited. The first phase of the programme was held at OMDA Multi-purpose Hall in Offa, targeting the aged population within the Offa/Ifelodun/Oyun Federal Constituency. The event featured a Geriatrics Training session focused on educating participants on managing the health of elderly individuals.

The health intervention programme is set to continue throughout the week, addressing the healthcare needs of the people across the Senatorial district.
