Omu-Aran Residents Commend Senator Ashiru For Healthcare Support

The Deputy Senate Leader and Senator representing Kwara South senatorial district, Arc Oyelola Ashiru, facilitated a Geriatric Training program on Thursday, attended by hundreds of aged people and others. The training, held at Bikgate Hotel in Omu Aran, was conducted by experts, including Health Consultant Mrs. Maikarfi Ramat, who shared her expertise and answered questions on geriatric care.

The elderly constituents, drawn from four local government areas in Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency, benefited from the training. Community leaders, including Mr. David Atolagbe from Ajashe Ward II, Mrs. Lydia Folasade Owolabi from Rorẹ/Aran-Ọrin, Mr. Kayode Aleshinloye from Imoji/Ilale/Erinmope ward, and Mrs. Owolabi Mulikah from Idofin Igbana Ward, praised Senator Ashiru’s efforts to improve the well-being of the aged and others in the Senatorial district.

The initiative, implemented in collaboration with the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA) and Ambidextrous General Contracting Ltd, began on August 27, 2024, and has focused on the elderly population. The program includes Geriatrics Training and free medical outreach, with sessions held in Offa, Oke-Onigbin, and upcoming in Ilofa Cottage Hospital.

Key figures attended the event, including Omuiyadun Hammed Ayodimeji Yah-Omuz (Principal Personal Assistant to Senator Lola Ashiru), Comrade Salahudeen Habeeb Tunde (Legislative Liaison Officer to Senator Lola Ashiru in Omu Aran District), Prince Clement Olabode Olanrewaju (SLA to the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio In Irepodun LG), Mr. Salawu Abidemi (NABDA representative), and Engr. Femi Muhammed (Consultant).

The program kicked off with a Geriatrics Training session held at the OMDA Multi-purpose Hall in Offa, targeting the aged population within the Offa/Ifelodun/Oyun Federal Constituency. This was followed by a free medical outreach on Wednesday at the Council Hall in Oke-Onigbin, Isin Local Government, where many residents received free treatment and drugs. The program will continue with medical outreach at Ilofa Cottage Hospital in Oke Ero Local Government.
