The Kwara State Commissioner for Business Innovation and Technology, Hon. Damilola, today visited Queen Elizabeth School, one of the six centers hosting the ongoing Free Summer Coding and Digital Literacy Bootcamp.
The bootcamp, a government initiative under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, aims to equip young minds with essential digital skills, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities of the digital age.
During her visit, Hon. Damilola commended the executive governor for making this an exceptional summer experience for public school students. She also commended the Special Assistant Digital Innovations to His Excellency, the Governor of Kwara State on Digital Innovations Hon. Ishola Kayode, for implementing this innovative program, bridging the digital divide for public school students.
The Commissioner assessed the learning facilities at Queen Elizabeth School, which include two computer labs and a server room. She was impressed by the conducive environment provided for the students.
The commissioner had the opportunity to interact with the students and assessed their progress as the bootcamp entered its final week. She was particularly impressed by the students’ project presentations, which showcased their newfound skills and knowledge.
She commended the instructors and coordinators for their hard work and commitment to the program’s success.
She also congratulated H.E AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on the success of the bootcamp, noting that it has achieved its objectives and empowered young minds with valuable digital skills.
The Free Summer Coding and Digital Literacy Bootcamp is a testament to the government’s dedication to empowering young people with the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century. The Kwara State Government remains committed to investing in the future of its youth through such initiatives, she said.
