Ilorin, Kwara State – The Kwara State Police Command has issued an immediate press release announcing security measures and movement restrictions for the upcoming Local Government Elections.
According to the release signed by DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, Police Public Relations Officer, there will be a restriction on all vehicular movement from 12:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya, urged residents to comply with the directive, emphasizing that violators will face the full wrath of the law.
Exceptions will be given to essential service providers, accredited electoral officials, authorized media personnel, electoral observers, and emergency responders.
The Police Command has provided emergency lines for reporting complaints, observations, or irregularities: 0703 206 9501, 0812 527 5046, 08037098886, and 08078255661 (SMS or WhatsApp only).
CP Olaiya reassured residents of his commitment to safeguarding the state and ensuring a fair and peaceful electoral process.
