The Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has suspended Alhaji Isiaka Ishola Bolakale from his position as Daudu Yekelu Idi Adan of Ilorin Emirate for a period of three months.
The Informant 247 reports that the suspension was conveyed in a letter dated November 21, 2024, signed by the Secretary to the Ilorin Emirate Council, Alhaji S.A. Lawal.
The letter cited insubordination to the Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin Emirate and Daudu Fagba, the head of the Shita ruling house, as reasons for the disciplinary action.
The letter, as obtained by The Informant247, read in part:
“I am directed by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, to convey to you your suspension as Daudu Yekelu Idi Adan of Ilorin Emirate for a period of three months, effective from today, November 21, 2024. This is due to your insubordination to the Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin Emirate and Daudu Fagba, who is the head of the Shita ruling house.”
The Secretary further requested that Alhaji Bolakale acknowledge receipt of the suspension letter.
While confirming the suspension, the Emir of Ilorin’s spokesman, Abdulazeez Arowona reiterates the Emirate’s emphasis on discipline and respect for traditional authorities.
