Major Boost for Nigeria’s Aviation Sector As MMIA and NNAIA Secure Re-certification

In a significant development for Nigeria’s aviation sector, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has re-certified the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NNAIA) in Abuja. This re-certification is a testament to the ongoing improvements in safety standards at these key airports.

The Aerodrome Certificate was formally presented to Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, the Managing Director/CEO of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), by Captain Chris Najomo, the Acting Director General of the NCAA.

This milestone achievement underscores the commitment of both the NCAA and FAAN to ensuring the highest levels of safety and security for passengers and aviation personnel. The re-certification process involves rigorous inspections and evaluations to verify compliance with international aviation standards and regulations.

The successful re-certification of these airports is expected to further enhance Nigeria’s reputation as a regional aviation hub and attract more international airlines and travelers. It also signifies a positive step towards the overall development of the country’s aviation industry.
