The family of late Chief James Abolaji Balogun is set to host an inaugural marathon race in Agbamu, Kwara State.
The event, scheduled for December 26th, 2024, at 7 AM, aims to promote healthy living, foster peace, and empower the community.
9japarrot reports the marathon, which will start from Agbamu to Igbonla and return to Agbamu, offers significant cash prizes for the top three male and female finishers.
Announcing the marathon, the family reveals that the first-place winner in each category will receive a substantial sum of N50,000, while the second and third-place finishers will take home N30,000 and N20,000, respectively.
“We hope that this event organized in honour of our late legend, father and grandfather, late Chief James Abolaji Balogun will not only encourage physical fitness but also strengthen the bonds within the Agbamu community” the family said.
By providing financial incentives, we aim to motivate participants and inspire a healthier lifestyle.
Witnessing the announcement, our reporter noted that as the date approaches, anticipation is building in Agbamu and surrounding areas, with many residents eager to participate in this historic event.
