The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Saliu Mustapha has announced plans to commence the distribution of assorted food items to Christian faithful as part of his annual Christmas outreach.
This year’s distribution, described as the largest yet, is expected to benefit over 5,000 Christians, surpassing the over 3,000 who received similar support last year. Beneficiaries would include select clergymen, CAN structure, Christian opinion leaders, kids, widows, less-privileged persons, and other categories of people.
Elder Julius Balogun, the coordinator of the distribution, disclosed that the process involved extensive consultations with leaders and stakeholders of faith across the district.
“The Turaki of Ilorin has consistently shown that leadership transcends socio-cultural, political, and religious divides,” Balogun said. “He is not described as the ‘Senator for All’ for nothing. This initiative once again demonstrates his commitment to every segment of the society.”
Balogun, speaking on behalf of the Senator, extended Christmas wishes to Christians in Kwara Central and beyond, expressing hope that the gesture would brighten the celebrations for many.
This latest gesture follows Senator Mustapha’s support for the Annual CAN Christmas Carol held earlier in December. During the event, the CAN Chairman in Kwara State, Rev. Samuel Adewole, publicly praised the Senator’s contributions and urged Christians to pray for his continued success.
“Senator Mustapha has proven time and again that he is a leader who prioritizes humanity above all else,” Rev. Adewole said. “His support for the Christian community is unwavering, and we pray for God to sustain him in his leadership role.”
