The Kwara North Youth Consultative Forum under the leadership of AbdulDayan Aishat Haruna, appreciates the Kwara South Equity advocates on the success of Kwara South for Kwara North summit held yesterday, 27th December,2024 in Ajase-ipo, Irepodun LG of Kwara South Senatorial District.
The summit themed:”A new Dawn in Kwara: Quest for equity, fairness and Justice: Kwara South for Kwara North (2027 Agenda), is a clear show of solidarity, support and reciprocation of age long gesture of unity and cooperation to the people of Kwara North.
It’s no gain saying that Kwara North has always been very supportive to the other two senatorial districts as demonstrated in the successive elections since the return of democracy in 1999.
Recall, that Kwara North supported and voted for Late Muhammed Alabi Lawal of the blessed memory from 1999 to 2003, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki from 2003 to 2011 and thereafter the batton was given to Kwara South and the people of Kwara North extended the same gesture to Alh. Abdulfatah Ahmed popularly known as Megida from Share in Ifelodun local government of Kwara South.
Similarly, Kwara North voted massively in 2019 and 2023 to support the present Governor. Abdurahman Abdulrazaq, due to exigencies of the time, not minding the fact that the gubernatorial seat was naturally supposed to be Kwara North’s turn, if equity, fairness and justice was to be respected.
Now, that the exigencies of 2019 have been successfully addressed, by 2027 God willing, the Kwara Central would have served the state for 20 years, and South had it for 8 years, while Kwara North is zero.
Therefore, in the spirit of brotherhood and agelong reciprocity, the two senatorial districts should naturally and unarguably support the gubernatorial aspiration of a worthy pilot of Kwara North extraction, as the next Governor of the State.
This is highly expedient for the sustainance of our long existing relationship, unity and prosperity.
We believe that the good people of Kwara Central, will in no distant time also publicly align in solidarity with this growing, widely accepted push for justice, fairness and equity.
Recall that Kwara North Youth Consultative Forum has organized a unity summit where the traditional rulers and other critical stakeholders from the region were in attendance, and It was for the purpose of the humble demand for power shift to Kwara North come 2027.
Kwara North Youth Consultative forum believes in the unity of the state and shall continue to promote peace and tranquility that will birth an everlasting prosperity.
