Amofin Titilope Akogun, President, Barrister Titilope Akogun (BTA) Foundation has congratulated the people of Osi community over the recent completion and inauguration of the Kwara State University campus in the community.
Amofin Akogun in a statement on Wednesday described the completion and inauguration of the campus as a new year special gift to the people of the community, saying that the intervention would in no small measure help in raising the standard of education in the area and further drive development in the Community.
He commended the people, more importantly, the Olosi-In-Council headed by His Royal Majesty, Oba Solihu Adasofegbe for their support and cooperation that assisted government in bringing the project to reality.
The erudite legal practitioner cum-renowned philanthropist said education remained the bedrock of any meaningful socio-economic development and urged the people of the community not to relent in joining hands with government to maintain the infrastructure facilities and equipment in the campus.
He commended the visionary leadership of former Governor Bukola Saraki, Abdulfatai Ahmed for giving adequate priority to educational development which contributed to the establishment of the institution in Malete and subsequent location of its extended campus in Osi community.
He as well urged well meaning Kwara Southerners to invest in driving infrastructural development in the Community especially in the area of mass housing that would be required by students, while urging Visionary companies to look towards the region to grow Kwara South.
“We have all the resources and required raw materials for companies to thrive in this region and our representatives are urged to swing into action, encouraging captains of industries into berthing establishments in our region.
Amofin Akogun also used the opportunity to congratulate Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for having the strong political will to embark on the project and seeing to its completion and inauguration.
The BTA Foundation boss urged the people of the community, especially the youth populace to take advantage of the campus inauguration to boost their educational standard for their benefit and the society.He expressed the Foundation’s readiness in collaborating with the people of the community in the areas of education, health and human capital development.
“The visionary leadership of Distinguished Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, former Senate President, former Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed and the maturity, the courage and political will of Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in completing the project is highly commendable.
“I urge subsequent Governments after Gov. Abdulrazaq to sustain the spirit of prioritising Kwara interest ahead of politics, Akogun added.
