UNILORIN Re-Activates Work-Study Program, Offers Financial Aid & Mentorship To Deserving Students




The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) in a move designed to empower students and ease financial burdens has announced the reactivation of its Work-Study Programme.

This program offers passionate and academically strong students with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, mentorship, and financial assistance.

Confirming this development in a press release received by 9japarrot jointly signed by AGEZEH, Victor Oghenetega (VICTEG) Student Union President and YUNUS, Kamaldeen Olanrewaju(DEEN), Public Relations Officer revealed that Students selected for the program will participate in a shift system, working either from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM.

“This flexible structure allows them to balance their academic commitments with practical work experience.” the statement further noted.

“We are pleased to announce the reactivation of the Work and Study Programme,” said AGEZEH, Victor Oghenetega, Executive President of the student union, in the press release.

“This program is designed to provide passionate and academically fit students with mentorship on work ethics and financial assistance.”

The program offers placements across various departments, units, and centers within the university. These include the University Library, Technical and Entrepreneurial Centre, GNS, Ilorin Business School, and several other support centers. Students may also find themselves working in Deans’ and Faculty offices, including the Postgraduate and Student Affairs Unit.

The application deadline for the Work-Study Programme is Monday, January 20th, 2025.
