FCT Police Launch Investigation, Manhunt For 7 Suspected kidnappers of Family in Abuja

The FCT Police Command has launched an investigation and manhunt following the kidnapping of a family and their visitor in the Kubwa area of Abuja.

According to a statement from SP Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer, the force has activated search and rescue operations to apprehend the suspects.

On January 27, 2025, around 1 p.m., the FCT Police Command received a distress call reporting the abduction and assault of a family in the Chikakore community. Police operatives were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed that seven unknown men, disguised as vigilante members and armed with machetes and sticks, attacked the victim’s residence. The suspects tricked the victim into opening his gate, after which they abducted him, his wife, their elder son, and a visitor. A neighbor who attempted to intervene sustained injuries and was rushed to Kubwa General Hospital for treatment.

The Police Command has initiated a comprehensive search and rescue operation aimed at securing the safe return of the victims and apprehending the perpetrators.

The FCT Police Command is urging residents of Chikakore and the general public to remain vigilant and report any useful information to assist in the investigation and rescue efforts. Sources revealed that the kidnappers later moved to a building housing a poultry farm, where they abducted another man and injured his wife.
