The Kwara South Joint Association (KSJA), an alliance of political and non-political groups in Kwara South, has inducted Senator Saliu Mustapha into the prestigious Kwara South Hall of Fame.
This was announced during a press conference held at the O2 Arena, Starwood Hotel, on Tuesday.
Senator Mustapha is the first individual outside Kwara South to receive this honour, joining an esteemed list of past inductees, including Alhaji Raheem Oladimeji Igbaja, the Jagunmolu of Ijagba Land; Professor Wale Sulaiman; and the late Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim.
Speaking at the event, the Convener of KSJA, Prince Seye Aboyeji, who hails from Iji-Isin in Isin Local Government Area and also serves as the President of the Kwara South Youth Pragmatic Movement (KSYPM), explained the rationale behind the senator’s nomination.
“Senator Saliu Mustapha has proven to be a unifying factor, fostering peace and collaboration across Kwara South. His numerous contributions, ranging from youth empowerment, engagement, and employment, have significantly impacted our communities, even though he is not from our senatorial district,” Prince Seye stated.
He added that the senator’s dedication to community development and commitment to uplifting Kwara South was the primary reason for his induction.
“This honour reflects the gratitude of the people of Kwara South for his relentless efforts to bridge divides and promote progress,” he said.
Adetola Adewumi, Secretary of KSJA and President of Kwara South Renews Hope Advocators, further revealed that Senator Mustapha will be officially decorated by key stakeholders and traditional rulers at an event scheduled to take place in Kwara South. “The date for the ceremony will be announced soon”.
The KSJA comprises several political and non-governmental groups, including:
– Kwara South Pragmatic Association
– Kwara South APC Youth Stakeholders
– Kwara South Movement
– Kwara South People’s Frontier
– Igbimon Odo’binrin in APC (Kwara South)
