Troops Gun Down 2 Bandits In Kaduna


Security forces under Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have eliminated two suspected bandits and freed four abducted individuals during an operation in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The intervention was prompted by a distress call on February 14 at approximately 8:30 p.m., reporting an attack on travelers along the Kafanchan-Kwoi road near Afana Daji village.

According to a source, troops swiftly responded, managing to rescue one victim who had sustained gunshot wounds.

Following credible intelligence, the troops launched an offensive operation on February 15 at around 4 p.m. in the Angwan Rimi Forest, where they confronted the kidnappers in a gunfight. Two of the assailants were neutralized in the exchange.

A search of the area resulted in the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, an AK-47 magazine, eight rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 10 mobile phones, food supplies, and a cash sum of ₦1,136,000.

The remaining three hostages, identified as Mr. Mathew Ayemowa, Mr. Tunde Salam, and Mr. Mustapha Mohammed, were successfully rescued.
