
The proposed establishment of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Offa, Kwara State, championed by the Deputy Senate Leader, Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, is set for a public hearing on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
According to a letter issued by the Clerk of the Senate Committee on Health, with reference number NASS/S/H/34/PH/25/01, the hearing will take place at the Senate Conference Hall 022, New Building.
Supporters of the bill have expressed optimism, emphasizing the significance of the medical center in enhancing healthcare services in Kwara South. A statement shared by stakeholders reads: “He who walks slowly acts intelligently to bring the trophy home, but those who run recklessly miss the chance of enjoying the title.”
The bill’s passage is expected to mark a major victory for the people of Kwara South, providing access to quality healthcare and boosting medical infrastructure in the region.
