FG Commends Senator Mustapha’s Commitment To Agricultural Development



•••Says Alubarika Empowerment Unprecedented


The Minister of Agriculture, Senator Abubakar Kyari, has commended Senator Saliu Mustapha, the Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial district for his dedication to agricultural development in Nigeria.

The Minister’s commendation came during the Alubarika Empowerment Programme in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.

The programme, organized by Senator Saliu Mustapha, empower beneficiaries with various items, including transformers, tractors, cars, and startup kits for solar power installation, to boost economic growth and support President Tinubu’s agenda in the energy and agricultural sectors.

Senator Kyari emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agricultural reforms are yielding results, making food more available and gradually more affordable. He acknowledged Senator Mustapha’s contributions to the development of the agricultural sector, describing his commitment as “outstanding.”


The All Progressives Congress (APC) has applauded the representative of Kwara Central in the Senate, Senator Saliu Mustapha over his impressive performance and community impacts.

On his part, APC National Secretary, Senator Bashiru Ajibola skills based empowerment as unique intervention that would make beneficiaries to be self reliant.

Ajibola cautioned beneficiaries against selling the empowerment items, tasking them to make judicious use of the opportunity to energise their businesses and launch their vocational activities.

Items distributed during the empowerment;


Speaking at the event, the Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau, lauded Senator Saliu Mustapha’s commitment to agriculture and human capital development.

“Empowerment in agriculture is key to the survival of any society. Without food, there is no life. Senator Mustapha has a solid pedigree, which is why the Senate entrusted him with the chairmanship of the Committee on Agriculture,” Barau stated.

He also praised the initiative for linking skills acquisition with entrepreneurship, aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Recognizing the program’s impact, Barau pledged support by donating 200 sewing machines to further empower women and artisans, promising continued collaboration with Senator Mustapha.

Similarly, Senator Tokunbo Abiru also donated N10million to empower 100 women in Kwara Central senatorial district.

Senator Saliu Mustapha in his address said the empowerment initiative items being distributed include transformers for some communities, tractors, cars, CUG fuel tricycles, start up kits for solar power installation, cows for farmers, goods for market women/men, cash support for businesses and others.

According to Saliu Mustapha, these efforts are aimed at boosting economic growth and supporting President Tinubu’s agenda in the energy and agricultural sectors.

The Senate Deputy Leader, Senator Oyelola Ashiru (Kwara South), Senate Chief Whip, Senator Mungonu, Senator Abass, Senator Makanjuola Ajadi, Kwara Assembly member, Hon Razaq Owolabi, former Kwara APC Chairman, Hon Bashir Bolarinwa and other party Stalwarts attended the event.
