Asiwaju of Oro Kingdom, Surgeon Rear Admiral Azeez Bayo Afolayan ( Rtd), has called upon the Muslim community in Oro, Kwara State, and Nigeria at large to uphold the teachings of the sacred month as faithfuls commence Ramadan globally.
The distinguished Consultant Paediatrician made this appeal in a statement released to the media on Sunday.
Asiwaju Afolayan, in his statement, urged faithfuls to continue to live in love, harmony, and peaceful coexistence, adhering to the tenets of the holy month.
He implored faithfuls to embody the spirit of giving, particularly towards the less privileged.
“As we commence this year’s Ramadan, let us use this opportunity to pray for our Kingdom, Oro Kingdom, under the rulership of His Royal Majesty, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye, and our state, Kwara State, under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to continue to witness unprecedented development and peaceful coexistence, free from security challenges,” he stated.
He also used the opportunity to canvass support for those in positions of leadership, emphasizing that collective efforts are essential for growth and development.
He concluded by supplicating to God to grant faithfuls the rewards of the holy month and the prosperity to witness many more on earth.
