Zaria To Get 3 New Federal Tertiary Institutions, 4 Others This Year –Speaker Abbass

Zaria Federal Constituency is set to benefit from seven new federal institutions as part of the 2025 budget, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen, has announced.

Speaking at a Ramadan Iftar (breaking of fast) event in Zaria on Saturday, Tajudeen emphasized that the initiative would reinforce the city’s status as a center for higher education.

He outlined the planned institutions, which include the Federal College of Agriculture, the Federal Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Institute, and the Federal Technical College. Also included are the Centre for Management Development, the Technology Incubation Centre, a School for the Disabled (Primary and Secondary), and four new federal secondary schools.

The Speaker reassured constituents that additional development projects with direct benefits to the people would be implemented in the 2025 fiscal year.

“With the 2025 budget now signed into law, the payment for the scholarships of 2,500 indigent students in tertiary institutions will be released soon. Additionally, 4,000 more students will benefit from the scheme,” he stated.

Expressing gratitude for the continued support from his constituents, Tajudeen attributed his achievements in the National Assembly to their solidarity.

He also urged prayers for President Bola Tinubu, noting that such prayers could aid the government in addressing inflation and boosting GDP growth. He further highlighted that the administration’s holistic approach had led to a significant reduction in insecurity.

Garba-Datti Babawo, the National Vice Chairman (North-West) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), commended the Speaker for promoting inclusivity by working with all legislators, regardless of party, region, or sectional differences.

Babawo encouraged Tajudeen to sustain his leadership style, which he described as fostering peace, progress, and harmony in the House of Representatives.

The event was attended by political figures, religious leaders, traditional rulers, business executives, and other key stakeholders, who collectively expressed confidence in the Speaker’s leadership.
