Generator Fumes Kill Two Lovers In Port Harcourt


A tragic incident occurred in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where a man and his female lover, identified as Peace, were found dead after inhaling generator fumes.

The unfortunate event took place on Saturday at Port Harcourt Township. According to reports, the couple had taken their generator into the passage close to their room on Friday night and left it running overnight.

By Saturday morning, their co-tenants noticed that the lovers had not come out of their room. Sensing that something was wrong, they forced the door open and discovered their lifeless bodies.

A resident, Chima, told newsmen that some neighbors immediately reported the incident to the Central Police Station.

The Rivers State Police Command spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident. She stated that preliminary investigations suggest the victims may have died due to inhalation of generator fumes.

Authorities have once again warned residents about the dangers of using generators in enclosed spaces, urging people to ensure proper ventilation when operating power generators indoors or in confined areas.
