The Kwara State Government has pledged to continuously pursue housing policy that will positively impact lives of all residents irrespective of social, political or religious affiliation.
The Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Dr Segun Ogunsola, made the pledge today at the first quarter 2025 Inter-Ministerial Press Briefing organized by the Kwara State Ministry of Communications, held at the conference room of Ministry of Finance, Ilorin.
Highlighting the progress made so far on key developmental projects by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration, Dr Ogunsola disclosed that the present administration has not only completed projects abandoned half way by the previous administration but also completed several projects embarked upon by the AbdulRazaq-led administration while several others are currently at varying stage of completion.
The key projects highlighted are renovation and upgrade of old infrastructures as well as new buildings construction, which spread across the three Senatorial Districts and they include:
i. The Kwara Hotel complex remodeling
ii. The Adewole Cottage Hospital
iii. The Indoor Sports Hall upgrade
iv. Kwara Football Academy ( KFA) complete renovation
v. Building of Kwasu campus in Osi and Ilesha-Baruba
vi. Construction of a new ultra-modern Revenue House, Kwara State Internal Revenue Service Headquarters
vii. Construction of Ilorin International Conference Center (IICC)
viii. Building of Kwara ICT Hub Ilorin
ix. Construction of Adeta Model School
x. Construction of Ultra-modern Kwara Court House Complex
xi. Construction of the New Civil Service Hospital
xii. Flower Garden phase 2 construction
xiii. Modernisation of Dada Pottery Industry
xiv. Construction of Shonga ICT Hub
xv. Upgrade of Patigi Regatta Motel among others.
The Commissioner noted that these landmark projects have already started changing the face of the State in terms of infrastructural outlook, aesthetics and revenue prospect as attested by the citizens, stressing that it is worthy to note that these projects are a testimony of the ‘IseNtesiwaju’ slogan of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s campaign commitment to boosting infrastructural fortune of the State.
While reaffirming that the State Government would sustain the drive to reposition the State as top in key physical infrastructural development in Nigeria, Dr Ogunsola appealed to the people to continue to support the iconic changes evident across the State for the projects to have meaningful impact on the citizenry.
