May Day: Senator Sadiq Umar Commends Workers’ Resilience, Diligence

As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to commemorate the 2025 International Workers’ Day, Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar (3SU), the distinguished Senator representing the good and decent people of Kwara North, heartily celebrates the diligence, resilience, and sacrifices of Nigerian workers especially the industrious people of Kwara North and Kwara State.

Senator Sadiq lauded the immense contributions of the Nigerian workforce to national growth and the country’s democratic journey. He described workers as the engine room of the economy and emphasized that their unwavering commitment to duty, despite daunting challenges, remains the backbone of development across all sectors.

“I salute the dogged spirit of Nigerian workers who continue to build our nation through sweat, sacrifice, and service. From our farmers, health workers, teachers, artisans, and civil servants to entrepreneurs, your roles are irreplaceable in shaping the future of Kwara State and Nigeria at large.”

The Senator reaffirmed his commitment to supporting His Excellency, Gov. AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq CON (Executive Governor of Kwara State) in championing policies and legislation that prioritize decent work, fair wages, improved working conditions, and social protection for workers. He also emphasized the need for continuous investment in human capital development, vocational training, and innovation to reposition the workforce for future challenges.

He called on Nigerian workers to remain peaceful and reflective during the celebration and urged all citizens to continue supporting efforts toward nation-building, unity, and sustainable development.
