
The Speaker of the 9th and 10th Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, was celebrated in grand style on Saturday as distinguished gathering of friends, colleagues, and supporters converged at his official residence in Ilorin to mark his 40th birthday.
The celebratory event commenced with a special prayer session led by the Chief Imam of Gambari, Sheikh Sulaiman Abdulazeez Al-Gambari, who sought divine guidance, wisdom, humility, and long life for the esteemed Speaker.
The prayer session drew prominent figures from across the state’s three senatorial districts. Attendees included the State party Chairman, Prince Sunday Adeniran Fagbemi; past and present members of the Assembly; Local Government Executive Chairmen; Commissioners; Advisers; and Special Assistants to the Governor.
During his insightful lecture, Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Folorunsho Sadam, a prominent Ilorin-born legal luminary and Islamic preacher, lauded the Speaker’s remarkable humility, simplicity, and receptive attitude.
He offered prayers for Allah to continue guiding the Speaker on the righteous path and acknowledged his significant contributions to Kwara State’s socioeconomic and political developments.
The celebration itself witnessed a substantial turnout of dignitaries, including party elders and prominent political stalwarts from all sixteen local government areas of the state.
The widespread attendance reflected the high esteem in which the Speaker is held across the political and social spectrum.
They expressed confidence that under his leadership, the Kwara State House of Assembly will continue to thrive and contribute positively to the state’s development.
Speaking at the event, Prince Fagbemi commended the Speaker’s exemplary leadership and his unwavering commitment to the progress of the State.








On his part, the celebrant, Hon. Danladi-Salihu, expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his goodwill and wishes on his birthday.
He described the Governor as a “true leader, supportive and father for all who is keen to see the success of young people in governance and politics.”
Speaker Danladi-Salihu also extended his heartfelt gratitude to members of the 9th and 10th Assembly, management and staff, traditional rulers, the All Progressives Congress family under the leadership of Prince Fagbemi, Islamic scholars, and all those who graced the event for their support, supplicating that God would reward them abundantly.
