His Royal Majesty Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye Olufayo II, the Oloro of Oro Kingdom and Paramount Ruler, has officially announced the withdrawal and invalidation of the chieftaincy title “Arole Oba Olufayo Aafin Oro.”
The directive, effective immediately, comes after an investigation revealed that no such title has ever existed within the history of Aafin Oro or the broader Oro Kingdom.
The announcement was made in a letter dated June 2, 2025, addressed to the Baale and the good people of Aafin-Oro.
“It has come to our attention that an individual, Mr. Clement Ogundokun, has been purporting to hold the title Arole Oba Olufayo Aafin Oro,” the statement read.
After thorough investigation and consultation, we confirm that no such chieftaincy title has ever existed in the history of Aafin Oro or within Oro Kingdom.
By virtue of the authority vested in me as the Oloro and Paramount Ruler of Oro Kingdom, I Oba Oyatoye II unequivocally declared the title “withdrawn and invalidated, effective immediately, the statement added.
The directive further stipulates that all associated rights, privileges, and regalia must be surrendered without delay.
These include, but are not limited to:
•Beads, walking staff, caps, and any other traditional attire
•Custom vehicle number plates
•Customized building signage or decorations
•Any other symbols or emblems denoting the withdrawn title
Oba Oyatoye expressed his expectation for full compliance with this directive, stating, “Your cooperation in ensuring full compliance with this directive is appreciated.”
Copies of the directive have been forwarded to key authorities for their information and necessary action, including the Chairman, Irepodun Local Government; the Kwara State Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs; the Chairman, Irepodun Traditional Rulers’ Council; and the Kwara State Commissioner of Police.
