
Today marks the 6th Anniversary of Distinguished Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar (3SU) in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, representing the good and decent people of Kwara North Senatorial District.
Since his election to the upper chamber in 2019 and successful re-election in 2023, Senator Sadiq has distinguished himself as a compassionate, visionary, and impact-driven legislator, championing the cause of rural development, social welfare, and legislative integrity. 1. *Healthcare Delivery*
Senator Sadiq has made transformative investments in healthcare to reduce disease burden and expand access to quality care. These include:
1. Rehabilitation of over 20 Primary Health Care Centres (PHCs)
2. Provision of drugs and equipment to 50+ health facilities
3. Routine medical outreaches across the 5 LGAs, delivering:
– 500+ successful eye surgeries
– 1,000+ hynea operations
– 1,000+ prescription eyeglasses
– Assorted drugs for various common and chronic ailments
– Construction of public toilets in markets and densely populated areas to improve sanitation and hygiene.
2. *Education*
Believing that education is the foundation of any progressive society, Senator Sadiq has:
1. Built and furnished over 25 classroom blocks and exam halls across the 5 LGAs in Kwara North
2. Awarded scholarships to more than 200 students (from primary school to PhD level)
3. Donated a school bus and over 1,000 computers to promote digital literacy and enhance learning environments.

Empowering the youth and women of Kwara North has been a central part of his legislative mission:
1. Launched mega empowerment initiatives reaching 6,000+ beneficiaries
2. Trained 300+ youths in agriculture-related trades and provided starter packs for economic independence
3. Facilitated jobs in federal and state parastatals for several constituents.

To support local farmers and food systems, Senator Sadiq facilitated:
1. Routine distribution of thousands of farm inputs and equipment
2. Construction of a Mega Storage Warehouse in Okuta, Baruten LGA to prevent post-harvest losses.
3. Provision of Grant support for farmers to fund their farming activies annually.
5. *Infrastructure & Water Projects*
Investments in critical infrastructure and basic amenities have been visible and impactful:
1. 150+ boreholes drilled, 300+ repaired to ensure access to potable water
2. Roads, culverts, and bridges built to address erosion and enhance connectivity across Communities in Kwara North
3. Installation of 500+ streetlights and distribution of transformers to boost electricity and security across communities.
6. *Community Engagement & Cultural Promotion*
1. Town halls built and equipped across all five LGAs for public engagement
2. Continuous support for cultural festivals and institutions
3. Construction of a ceremonial pavilion at the Emir of Kaiama’s Palace.
7. *Legislative Contributions*
In the Senate where Senator Sadiq currently holds sway as Chairman of Senate Committees on Trade and Investment as well as Rules and Business, he has demonstrated legislative excellence and remained an active voice speaking in the interest of his Constituents and Nigerians:

– Establishment of Kaiama Shea butter Factory to boost employment for women and youths.
– Ongoing Construction of Kaiama–Kishi Road, Bode Saadu – Kaiama – Kosubosu Road, Bacita – Shonga – Lafiag Road, Okuta – Gwanara – Bukoro Road, Ilesha – Gwanara Road which cumulatively span over 400 kilometers
