••• Doles out cash support to Irepodun PDP to aid membership registration drive
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) 2024 Chairmanship candidate for Irepodun Local Government Area, Hon. Ahmed Olalekan Alabi Olobi has engaged the 2024 Vice Chairmanship candidate Hon. Joseph Adekunle and all the 11 Ward Councilorship candidates during the 2024 Kwara Local Government election in a strategic meeting in a bid to strengthen the party’s structure and boost morale.
The gathering, held in Ilorin the Kwara State capital on Thursday aimed to assess the party’s performance across various wards and chart a way forward as preparedness ahead of the forthcoming 2027 general election.
The event featured presentation of situation report by the 11 Ward Councilorship candidates on the state of the party in their respective wards and peer review from their colleagues from the remaining 193 wards across the State who were represented by Comrade Aromaradu, the PDP 2024 Councilor Coordinator.
The peer review served as a platform for inspecting the councilors’ activities, follow-up on the party Leader’s (Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki CON) directives, and assessing progress regarding the ongoing party membership registration drive.
Speaking at the gathering, Comrade Aromaradu commended the Irepodun 2024 Councilorship candidates for their impressive efforts and positive reports presented regarding the ongoing membership registration drive.
He noted that the impressive turnout signaled the people’s readiness to vote out the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party’s leadership in 2027, which he described as an “anti-masses regime.”
On his part, Hon. Olobi who doubles as the Aare Bobaselu of Ajase-Ipo urged the candidates to sustain the momentum, assuring them of his unwavering financial and moral support.
He expressed gratitude to the good people of Irepodun LGA for their loyalty to the party and assured them that PDP would deliver on its promises of providing relief to the average person.
Olobi further emphasized that PDP would prioritize security and bridge the alarming poverty gap in the area, pledging to restore the sanctity of human life in the face of continued bloodletting by kidnappers and bandits.
He commended the party leader for providing effective leadership, advocating for the emancipation of Kwara State from the inept of the ruling All Progressive Congress party-led regime.
Hon. Olobi’s message was one of hope and empathy for the electorates, assuring the good people of Irepodun that their days of insecurity would soon be over and encouraged them to persevere, promising that the major opposition party, People’s Democratic Party PDP would bring about a better tomorrow.
He urged them to vent their anger on APC by voting PDP all through, signaling a new era of peace and prosperity for the area comes 2027.
Speaking also at the gathering, the Irepodun PDP Chairman, Hon. Oluwole Adeyeye, who presided over the special strategic session commended Olobi for carrying the party along and for his support and also for promoting unity among the councillors and other candidates.
He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to reclaim Kwara State in 2027, stating that Kwarans are wiser and ready for a change.
The gathering featured a presentation of cash support from Hon. Olobi for the 11 wards of the LGA to aid the ongoing party membership registration.
The meeting concluded with prayers for Kwara State, the party (PDP) and the party’s National Leader, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki President of the 8th Senate.
