Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar, representing Kwara North Senatorial District and serving as Chairman of the Senate Committees on Trade & Investment and Rules & Business, has been conferred with the “Best Performing Senator of the Year” award.
The recognition acknowledges the Lawmaker’s remarkable legislative achievements and his steadfast commitment to people-focused representation.
The prestigious award was presented to Senator Sadiq during the official launch and fundraising event of Atótó Arére Online TV, held recently in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital. The organizers cited Senator Sadiq’s unwavering dedication to development-oriented policies, the implementation of infrastructural projects, and impactful legislation that has visibly transformed lives and communities across Kwara North.
In his acceptance speech, Senator Sadiq humbly dedicated the award to the “hardworking, good and decent people of Kwara North Senatorial District” and to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, expressing his appreciation for their consistent support over the past six years.
He emphasized that the award is a reflection of the collective efforts arising from a “people-driven mandate” and reaffirmed his resolve to continue delivering quality representation at the national level.
“This recognition is for the hardworking, good and decent people of Kwara North and our visionary Governor whose leadership continues to inspire our legislative work. It is a call to do more,” the Senator stated.
Senator Sadiq’s performance in the Senate has consistently garnered national commendation, particularly for his initiatives in youth empowerment, rural development, education, and improving healthcare accessibility within his constituency.
The event also served as a platform to honour other notable individuals for their diverse contributions to society, further highlighting the importance of public service in fostering a progressive Kwara State.
