••• Stakeholders praise Governor’s exemplary performance, plead with Him to contest for Senate seat

Kwara Central Youths under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Kwara Central Youth Stakeholders have made a strong case for equitable representation in the governorship of Kwara State, urging that the next governor should emerge from the Kwara North Senatorial District as the 2027 general elections draw closer.
In a press conference held on Friday at the NUJ Press Centre in Ilorin, the Chairman of the group, Mall. Abdulganiy Erubu emphasized the need for fairness and justice in the state’s political transition. He reflected on Kwara’s gubernatorial history since 1999, noting that Kwara Central and Kwara South have collectively held the governorship for an aggregate of 20 years.
Speaking further, Erubu highlighted the single four-year term of Governor Muhammed Alabi Lawal (Kwara Central), followed by Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki’s two terms (Kwara Central), and Alhaji Abdulfatai Ahmed’s two consecutive terms (Kwara South). He then acknowledged the emergence of the current governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, in 2019, whose administration, he stated, has re-established the greatness of Kwara among comity of Nigerian states and beyond through visible and sustainable development in infrastructure, education, sports, and technology.
While the ‘Otoge’ mantra has helped Kwarans attain its political liberty, it is truism that this political liberation is completely delivered by our party come 2027, by ensuring the principle of equity, justice and fairness is entrenched in our political transition, Erubu stated.
We stand to be counted among the voice of reasoning that POWER SHOULD SHIFT TO KWARA NORTH COME 2027, when our leader, Gov. AbdulRazaq would have successfully completed his tenure, Insha Allah, He said.

The group stressed that given Kwara State’s heterogeneous nature, with its three major senatorial districts,Kwara Central, Kwara South, and Kwara North, the rotation of power is not merely crucial but a moral imperative for promoting equity, justice, and fairness, as well as driving inclusive growth and development.
“We respectfully urged Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, party leaders, and relevant stakeholders to consider conceding the governorship ticket to Kwara North, said the group.
“Similarly, we believe this gesture would not only promote equity but also foster harmonious relationships within the party and among stakeholders”
They called on all stakeholders, especially those from Kwara North, to remain calm and confident that justice will be served, assuring them that the party leadership will ensure the governorship ticket is zoned to the northern part of the state in 2027.
The group expressed confidence in Kwara North’s ability to produce a competent leader who will sustain and advance Governor AbdulRazaq’s vision for a prosperous Kwara.
Furthermore, they suggested that Governor AbdulRazaq, given his exemplary performance, should consider taking up the Kwara Central Senatorial seat after his gubernatorial tenure, to continue his good work for Ilorin and Kwara as a whole.
