The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the schedule for its 2025 Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, providing eligible Nigerians with clear dates for both online pre-registration and in-person registration.
According to a notice from the Commission and seen by 9japarrot media, online pre-registration will commence on Monday, August 18, 2025. Prospective registrants can access the online portal via www.cvr.inecnigeria.org to begin their registration process. This online option allows individuals to submit their personal data and other required information, including passport photographs, and then choose an appointment date to complete their registration physically.
Following the online pre-registration, in-person registration will officially begin on Monday, August 25, 2025.
This physical registration will take place at all INEC Local Government Area (LGA) offices nationwide and other designated registration centres. The exercise will run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
9japarrot reports that INEC has consistently emphasized that registration is a prerequisite for voting in elections, and citizens whose names are not on the Register of Voters will not be allowed to vote on election day.
The Commission urges all eligible Nigerians to take advantage of this opportunity to register or update their voter information to ensure their participation in future elections.
