The Elders Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Irepodun Local Government Area has lauded the developmental strides of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON, citing visible progress across the state and within Irepodun LGA.
This commendation came during a high-level caucus meeting held at the Irepodun LGA Secretariat, organized by the Executive Chairman of the LGA, Hon. Azeez Yakubu, on Saturday.
Elder statesmen and key APC stakeholders from all eleven wards of the local government were in attendance, commending the Governor’s commitment to grassroots development and good governance. The forum also applauded Hon. Yakubu Azeez for his performance within just nine months in office.
In his remarks, Hon. Azeez presented an account of his administration’s achievements since assuming office in September 2024, referencing several projects executed across various communities in the LGA. He acknowledged the vital support, mentorship, and wise counsel of the elders’ caucus, which he described as instrumental to his administration’s success.

A major highlight of the event was the goodwill message delivered by Professor Wale Sulaiman, CON, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council at the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun (FUHSI), and a prominent chieftain of the APC.
Professor Sulaiman applauded Governor Abdulrazaq’s visionary leadership, particularly in repositioning Kwara State on the path of sustainable development. He further praised the collaborative spirit between the state government and the Irepodun LGA leadership, noting that this synergy has yielded measurable results.
“The progress we see today is a product of unity, dedication, and alignment between the leadership at the federal government, state and local levels,” he stated. “I commend the LGA Chairman for keying into the vision of His Excellency and delivering results that are impacting lives.”
Professor Sulaiman also used the occasion to call for greater cohesion and peace among party members, urging all elected officials and political appointees to maintain a united front in order to attract more democratic dividends to the local government.
The meeting was well attended by respected party elders, community leaders, and stakeholders from across the eleven wards of Irepodun LGA, reflecting the continued strength and structure of the APC in Kwara State.
