
Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar, representing Kwara North Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committees on Trade and Investment as well as Rules and Business, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
The former President reportedly died in London on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
In a statement issued on Monday, Senator Sadiq extended his heartfelt condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the entire Buhari family, and the people of Nigeria on this personal and painful loss.
He further conveyed his thoughts and prayers to Her Excellency, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, the children, and all loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time.
The lawmaker described the former President’s demise as a significant loss, stating, “Indeed Nigeria and Africa at large has lost a great Leader!”
“We pray that Almighty Allah grants him forgiveness, mercy, and eternal rest in al-jannah Firdaus, and comforts the family and the nation with strength and patience.” he added.
9japarrot reports that Former President Muhammadu Buhari served Nigeria twice, first as a military Head of State from 1983 to 1985 and later as a democratically elected President from 2015 to 2023.
His passing has elicited an outpouring of tributes and condolences from across the country and beyond.
