His appointment follows the imminent retirement of the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, who will cease to be in service on August 1, 2025, upon attaining the mandatory retirement age of sixty.

DCG Olumode Samuel Adeyemi brings a wealth of experience to his new and critical role. He transferred his service from the FCT Fire Service to the Federal Fire Service and steadily rose through the ranks to become the Deputy Controller-General of Fire in the Human Resource Directorate at the Service Headquarters.

Throughout his distinguished career, DCG Adeyemi has successfully completed all mandatory in-service trainings, command courses, and various other specialized courses both within and outside Nigeria.

He has served in diverse capacities and is a notable member and fellow of several professional associations, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.

The CDCFIB, in a statement signed by its Secretary, Major General (Rtd.) AM Jibril, extended its profound appreciation to the retiring Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola. The Board acknowledged his “remarkable contributions to the development of the Federal Fire Service,” as well as his “dedication and commitment to the service, and the numerous initiatives he spearheaded during his period of service.”

The transition aims to ensure continuity and enhanced operational efficiency within the Federal Fire Service, which plays a vital role in national safety and emergency response.
