
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District and the former governor of Abia State, has expressed profound sadness over the death of Chief Audu Ogbeh.
Chief Ogbeh, a prominent elder statesman, former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, and a former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
In a statement issued through his official pages on Saturday, Senator Kalu described the late minister as a man of uncommon wisdom, humility, and integrity.
He highlighted Chief Ogbeh’s immense passion for Nigeria’s growth, particularly in the agricultural sector and rural development, noting that his contributions were unmatched.
“Nigeria has lost a true patriot,” Senator Kalu stated, while extending his heartfelt condolences to the Ogbeh family, the government, and the people of Benue State.
The lawmaker offered prayers for the repose of the elder statesman’s soul, asking God to grant him eternal rest and give his family the strength to bear the loss.
